Guidance when You Go To Antalya (Turkey)

Starting from any of Channel Ports. Calais being the shortest crossing and most economical the drive a cross Europe is a pleasant one which ever route you chose especially as you go further south in to the mountain. They are spectacular summer or winter.

Note: If you should decide to go via the Mount Blanc Tunnel (Swiss) the toll is approximately 32 pound each way (2009).

If you wish to drive on the Swiss Motor ways, you must obtain a Vignette (Tax Disk) approximately 15 pound (2009) valid for 1 year. It can be obtained from the Swiss Tourist Office before departure.

Note: If you are stopped by the Swiss Police and do not have one there is a heavy fine.

ITALY/CESME

ENTRY INTO TURKEY: Park your car on the parking-lot of the port. Consult the police station, where you have to show your passports and with a stamp get access to the country. Then you drive your car in direction of the exit, park your car beside the customs and show the officer all your documents, which have been prepared on board the ferry-boat: TRIPTIK-documents, vehicle documents. Please take care, that your car will also be signed off. Then you drive your car outside the customs area.

IN THE FERRY-BOAT

1.Before your check-in on the ferry-boat, please prepare your passport and your ticket. Our supervising staff will receive all your documents at the ferry-boat.

2.For your own safety it is forbidden during the whole journey to return to the parked cars on the parking decks. So please take all your belongings necessary to you during the journey with you.

3.Dogs, cats and other pets are only allowed to travel on the ferry-boat in special boxes, supplied on board. Only in certain areas on the ferry-boat it’s allowed to take out the animals for a walk, if they are tied up. In areas where passengers stay it is strictly forbidden to walk with the pets.

4.On the ferry-boat credit cards are not valid. For all your expenditwes during your journey you may order a magnetic card against cash (EURO,USD,CHF,POUND)at the ferry boats bank.

5.For your own safety, in your cabin it is not allowed to use electric heating, LPG Gas cylinder or other dangerous items.

6.If it should happen, that you are not satisfied with your cabin, directly consult the reception ,where they can offer you another cabin of a higher category ,right after the beginning of the journey. You only have to pay the difference in price.

There is a good road between Cesme(Izmir) and Antalya. The road goes Via Aydin, Denizli passing close to Aphrodisias

And so on to Antalya-Serik-Bogazkent

The return trip is basically a return of the outward bound journey. The Marmara Line (also known as RECA) office is in the town in Cesme (opens 6:00am).Its the only Ferry that goes direct from Europe to Turkey is Marmara Line. There are sailings from early May till the end of October.

Meals on board are very Turkish. Most things are less expensive than the UK. An exception is fuel for your car as is wine which is excellent. Ayran is a drink which is made with yogurt, water and salt to taste. Efes beer produced locally is strongly recommended.

CESME/ITALY

LEAVING TURKEY: Drive your car in front of customs office at Cesme port and present all the TRIPTIK-documents. Please take care, that your car will be signed off. Drive your car forward to the police station and park it. All the passengers leaving Turkey should show their passports and confirm the exit with a stamp. Beside the police station, there is the customs office, where you should again confirm the signing off of the car. Present all the TRIPTIK-documents. Drive your car in direction of the ferry-boat and park it at the given place.
